Banana Payasam




Ingredients :

  • 2 Ripe Bananas
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Jaggery
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 2 pinch Saffron 
  • 3 tsp Butter
  • Finely sliced dry fruits (Badam, Cashewnuts & Raisins)

Method :
Heat a little butter in a pan, roast the sliced dry fruits along with raisins and keep it aside.Mash the riped bananas with hand so as to form a rough paste.Heat a little butter in a pan and allow it to melt. Add the banana paste to it and fry till it turns slight brown. Add jaggery to it and keep mixing properly when all the jaggery is uniformly mixed, add milk to it and simmer and allow it to cook.Add the saffron to the payasam and bring it to boil. Add cardamom powder and roasted dry fruits to it.Mix properly and bring it to boil .Serve Hot .
 

Banana Fritters (Kelyache Kaap)



Ingredients:

  • 2 Raw bananas, Cut them into half, Peel off skin.Then cut each half lengthwise into thick slices.
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric POwder
  • 3/4 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tsp Lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp Besan (Gram Flour)
  • 2 Tbsp Rice flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for shallow frying

Method :
Toss the banana slices with salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder and lemon juice. Set aside for 15-20 minutes.
Then a plate mix Gram Flour & Rice Flour.Then dip banana slices in this flour mixture and shallow fry 5-6 slices at a time on a non-stick pan with few drops of oil until each slice turns golden on both sides.

Banana Appe / Appam



Ingredients :

  • 2 Bananas
  • 3/4 Cup Fine rawa
  • 1/4 Cup Grated Jaggery
  • 1/2 Tsp Cardamom powder
  • Small Coconut Pieces, Cashew Nuts Pieces
  • A pinch of  Salt
  • Ghee (Clarified Butter) for frying

Method :

Mix all the above ingredients with hand and make a batter of consistency of that of cake, it should fall in folds.In a Appam Pan pour 1/2 Tsp ghee in each slot and then add One spoon batter into each slot. Fry till they turns Golden brown on low flame.Turn over appams to cook the other side and remove with fork when done.Let the appams cool before serving.

Banana Muffin


Ingredients:
Orgran Gluten free Self Raising Flour, 17.5-Ounce (Pack of 7)India Tree Superfine Caster Baking SugarDanish Lurpak Butter - Unsalted (8 ounce)



Horizon Organic 1 % Low Fat Milk, 8-Ounce Aseptic Cartons (Pack of 18)




Bio Fresh BananaSodium Bicarbonate Powder Usp LB


200 g self raising flour
50 g Castor sugar
100 g butter
25 ml milk
2 eggs
2 bananas
1/8 tsp bicarbonate of soda


Method:
1. Cream butter and sugar together till light and fluffy.
2. Add in beaten eggs a little at a time.
3. Sift flour together with bicarbonate of soda.
4. Add in milk and flour alternately till well mixed into the cream mixture.
5. Peel bananas and mash them with a fork. Add in the mashed bananas.
6. Spoon the mixture into paper cups till 3/4 full.
7. Bake in a hot oven about 200 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

Banana Apam


 There are many types of apam. Usually the apams are steamed. I'm making a different type of apam by using the sandwich maker. It is simple and fast to cook.Give it a try and I'm sure you will love it.




Ingredients:
5 ripe bananas
1 cup wheat  flour
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1tbsp oil
1 egg

Method:
1. Peel the bananas skin and mash them till fine.
2. Sift flour and bicarbonate of soda together.
3. Beat the egg.
4. Mix all the ingredients together.



5. Heat up a sandwich maker.


6. When it is hot, put a tablespoon of the mixture in the sandwich maker.Spread the mixture evenly in the mould.


7. Close the lid and let it cook for a few minutes.



8. When the apam is cooked, lift the apam and fold it into half. Continue doing this till all the mixtures are finished.
